SEC proposes reducing holding periods under Rule 144

Washington, D.C., June 27, 2007 - The SEC has proposed amending Securities Act Rule 144, the safe harbor for the sale of securities under the exemption set forth in Section 4(1) of the Securities Act, to reduce to six months the holding periods for restricted securities for both affiliates and non-affiliates, if they have not engaged in hedging transactions with respect to the securities.  If the holder has engaged in hedging transactions, the holding period is extended to a maximum of one year.  [SEC Release No.33-8813]
